Sponsored Three peaks challenge

The three peaks challenge is to climb the three highest mountains in England, Wales and Scotland in 24 hours, namely Sca Fell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis respectively. This involves climbing 11179 feet and driving 480 miles between the mountains.

Chris, Mike, Ali and Dan: "youngish, not so fit friends" tackled this challenge in July 2006 in aid of Barnado's childrens charity. We shared the driving and limited driving stints to about 2 hours to avoid falling asleep at the wheel. Click below for pictures...

Ben Nevis (4409 feet / 1343 metres)
Sca Fell Pike (3210 feet / 977 metres)
Snowdon (3560 feet / 1085 metres)
