8:50 - Setting out from Keelman lodge, Newburn (Map)

10:50 -The River Tyne

Some of Gateshead/Newcastle's famous seven bridges (Map)

11:20 - Break at a pricey riverside bar (Map)

12:05 - The millenium bridge open (Map)

13:50 - Finally made it to Wallsend! (Map)

About 5 hours walk today, starting off a bit uninteresting through suburban Newburn, Lemington and Scotswood but more interesting after joining the path beside the River Tyne in Elswick, under the seven bridges through a bustling street market, with a last uphill stretch through Walker riverside park and the final slog to a non obvious finish near Segundum Fort.

Overall a fantastic walk and quite a challenge to complete in 4.5 days, but all in a good cause!
