That day Mike & I finally finished at about 22:00 - 14.5 hours walk! The faster walkers ahead of us arrived in Banks by about 19:30.

This is too much to do in one day really, and I would recommend breaking this over two days: travel up to Bowness one morning and walk for the afternoon with an overnight stop somewhere near Carlisle.
